Please join the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs’ Atlanta District Office for a discussion designed to guide federal contractors through the compliance review process. We will discuss the different stages of a supply and service compliance review and common problem areas. Attendance is free and open to supply and service federal contractors. FLSA for Childcare Industry Employers

A free compliance assistance webinar for childcare industry employers to learn more about requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Most employers are required to pay minimum wage and overtime to workers in accordance with the FLSA. This free webinar is being offered by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division to assist childcare industry employers in understanding their obligations under the law, including record keeping, youth employment, deductions, and more.

Virtual Southwest DOL Forum

Building a Stronger Workforce through Awareness

The forum is intended for construction employees, employers, unions, employee/industry associations, and other stakeholders throughout the 11 states in the WHD SW Region from Louisiana to Montana, but as a virtual event, may include others from across the country. The first day will begin with a panel discussion hosted by a WHD moderator featuring administrators and directors representing the agencies who will be making presentations later during the event. WHD will be presenting on FLSA, FMLA, DBA, and Prevailing Wage Surveys, and there will also be presentations from BLS, EBSA, ETA, OFCCP, OSHA, & VETS, HUD as well as SBA. All presentations will be in English using the Adobe Connect platform. Attendees will register at a landing page and will receive a link to the event after completing registration. The OFCCP Atlanta District Office invites you to attend our upcoming virtual webinar “Proudly They Served – Hiring Today’s Veterans”. During this webinar, you will hear from The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Atlanta District Office and The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Michael Poyma who will discuss strategies for recruiting, hiring and retaining veteran talent. Attendees will be guided through the various nuances of the largest obstacle to veterans’ employment: the military – civilian cultural gap. Additionally, attendees will leave with takeaways, resources and information that would better assist in the hiring of veterans.

Objectives of this event include: 1) to inform the audience about what the military – civilian cultural gap is in broad terms, and the impact of this divide on veterans’ abilities to obtain suitable employment after military service, 2) to inform and motivate the audience about actions they can take to bridge the military –civilian cultural gap, 3) to empower the audience with resources and opportunities to expand their network, all to help our veterans gain improved employment outcomes.
