Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health Meeting

The Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) will meet on Nov. 16-17.

The MACOSH Shipyard and Longshoring Workgroups will meet on Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. The full committee will meet on Nov. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. 

Submit comments and requests to speak at the full committee meeting by Nov. 10. OSHA is not receiving public comments or requests to speak at the MACOSH Workgroup meetings.

Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health Meeting

The agenda for the meeting will include: 

  • Updates from OSHA leadership.
  • OSHA's National Emphasis Program on Outdoor and Indoor Heat-Related Hazards and programmed inspections.
  • Federal agencies' responsibilities under 29 CFR Part 1960, Basic Program Elements for Federal Employee Occupational Safety and Health Programs and Related Matters.

Public attendance at the meeting will be virtual only. Submit comments and requests to speak to the Federal eRulemaking Portal, Docket Number OSHA-2021-0010, by Nov. 10, 2022. Be sure to include the docket number on all submissions.

OFCCP Construction Compliance Assistance

The U.S. Department of Labor's OFCCP Arlington District Office will host four virtual compliance assistance events for construction contractors. If you are a construction contractor working on or will be working on any federal or federally-assisted projects. Please join this event to understand your EEO/Affirmative Action Obligations under OFCCP's regulations covering construction contractors 41 CFR 60-4.

Each session will be the same. Please select your preferred date. Each session will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at noon (12:00 p.m.) All times are eastern standard.

November 14, 28, December 8, and 19, 2022

Learn about the obligations found under the regulations implementing EO 11246, VEVRAA, and Section 503. This presentation will also cover how to prepare for a compliance evaluation and the compliance review process.

Audience: This is appropriate for construction contractors working on or planning to work on federal projects.
