Understanding Rights & Responsibilities Regarding Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the Workplace presented by
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) St. Louis District Office, Indianapolis District, and Chicago District Offices and The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Midwest Regional Office

 

The EEOC and OFCCP will provide federal contractors and employers with overviews of federal protections against employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation for LGBTQ workers. Personal stories will be shared with attendees, and there will be a panel discussion in which panelists will discuss their workplace experiences, including obtaining and/or maintaining gainful employment. Experts will also share suggestions on how to foster inclusive and respectful work environments.

DOL Grants: Learn About Resources Available this Year

The Department of Labor administers a variety of grants, which aim to connect, protect, train, support, and empower workers and job seekers, at home and abroad. We stand ready to serve workers in all communities, with targeted programs for teens and young adults, low-wage workers, women in nontraditional occupations, people with disabilities, homeless veterans and returning service members, previously incarcerated youth or adults, tribal communities and rural communities.

The Department’s grants range in terms of size, eligibility, program purpose, and other important characteristics. Come hear from Department of Labor leadership and staff across grant-making agencies and program offices, to learn about the grant programs and funding opportunities available at the Department, how to prepare, partner, or apply, and how to stay informed throughout the year as funding opportunities become available.

Workers’ Rights and Protections

The US Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), Wage & Hour Division (WHD) and the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) are hosting a free online webinar presentation aimed at educating Community- Based Organization and Advocacy Group representatives on the protections afforded to wage earners and job seekers. At the session, you will learn about the laws OFCCP, WHD and EEOC enforce along with their respective jurisdictional authorities. Participants will also be informed of what to do if applicants or employees believe their employment rights have been violated.” The session will take place from 9:30 am until 11:30 am PST.
