Entrepreneurship for Military Spouses and Caregivers

Transition Employment Assistance for Military Spouses and Caregivers (TEAMS) is a series of Department of Labor (DOL) employment workshops that extend the Department’s Transition Assistance Program to assist military spouses and caregivers as they plan and prepare for their job search in pursuit of their employment goals. All TEAMS workshops are instructor-led virtual training, provided at a variety of times, to meet the needs of individuals stationed throughout the world.

Entrepreneurship - This two-hour workshop, focused on military spouse entrepreneurship, provides an overview of the programs and resources available through the U.S. Small Business Administration to start, grow, expand, and recover a small business. Participants will learn about the resources available to help with getting started or continuing the path of entrepreneurship.

Pay Secrecy Policies Webinar for All Federal Contractors

U.S. Department of Labor Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Indianapolis District Office and U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division (WHD) Indianapolis District Office

OFCCP will discuss Pay Secrecy Policies, which will be on the implementation of Executive Order 13665 and describe how Federal contractors and subcontractors are prohibited from establishing policies that limit an employee’s ability to discuss compensation with peers.

WHD will discuss the details of Davis-Bacon compliance, starting with a discussion history and coverage of which workers are subject to Davis-Bacon labor standards, as well as the location-specific limitations on the prevailing wage requirements. WHD will also discuss how to ensure that covered workers receive the correct prevailing wage rate for the classifications of work they perform, and the requirements for contractors to submit certified payrolls to their contracting agency, affirming that prevailing wages have been paid to the covered workers.
