This document is about the Council's examination of the current state of benefit plan administration, and how technology has created opportunities and challenges for keeping personal identifiable information (PII) of plan participants and beneficiaries in retirement and certain welfare benefit plans private and secure. The Council provides recommendations to the Department of Labor on guidance, education, and outreach related to the protection of PII.
