The OFCCP Southeast Region and ODEP invites you to attend our upcoming virtual WRP information session for HBCU ADA Coordinators and staff that assists individuals with disabilities.
The Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities (WRP) is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and select private-sector employers nationwide with college students, graduate students, and recent graduates with disabilities eager to demonstrate their skills through summer internships or permanent jobs. WRP is free for schools and students.

The Dallas District Office of the U.S. Department of Labor/Wage & Hour Division will be conducting a free virtual webinar for advocacy, non-profit and women’s organization representatives to understand federal labor laws and increase their ability to assist their clients who may have experienced violations under the laws enforced by the Wage & Hour Division. Workers identified as essential are encouraged to attend the webinar to learn more about protections afforded them under the law.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE TEENS ALLOWED TO WORK?
Every year, millions of teens work in part-time or summer jobs. Early work experiences can be rewarding for young workers, providing great opportunities to learn important skills. However, the jobs that teens do should not jeopardize their health or well-being.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s YouthRules! initiative promotes positive and safe work experiences for young workers by educating parents, teens, employers, and educators about the types of jobs teens can hold and the number of hours they can work.
Representatives from the Wage and Hour Division’s Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Wilkes Barre District Offices will provide information and resources regarding federal youth employment regulations and representatives from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Labor Law Compliance will provide information regarding the Pennsylvania Child Labor Act.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division (WHD) in Kansas City, Kansas along with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the U.S. Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be presenting on their continuing efforts during COVID-19 to employees, business owners and other stakeholders.

Workers in grocery stores, health care, delivery services, retail establishments, agriculture, construction and other essential industries have remained on the job despite many potential risks to their own health or that of their families. Rapid changes in the workplace have surfaced many questions for workers, their advocates, and employers about safety, wages, hours worked, and time off for workers or their family members dealing with serious illness. The Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 provide protections for workers that may be more crucial now than ever before.
The Wage and Hour Division and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are pleased to offer a special training for the general public and representatives in Texas on these critical workplace protections through our Essential Workers - Essential Protections Initiative.
