This is an interview guide to support Mauritania BRIDGE staff when conducting interviews with administrative and security authorities.

The National Strategy for the Fight against the Worst Forms of Child Labor (Strategie Nationale de Lutte Contre les Pires Formes de Travail des Enfants (SN-PFTE)) defines guidelines and includes a set of actions to protect children against their exploitation through work. It also describes the mechanisms and procedures for implementing these actions. The document also includes an overview of the child labor situation in Burkina Faso

National Anti-Slavery Day: The Dysfunction of The Special Courts Dealing with Slavery Cases - Description of a presentation on "Challenges of the implementation of Law 2015-031" given by Magistrate Bâ Aliou, President of the Special Criminal Court of Nema in charge of slavery cases.  This event -- National Anti-Slavery Day -- was celebrated on 6 March 2017 in Kiffa, Mauritania.  It was sponsored by the Association of Mayors of Assaba in collaboration with the International Labour Office (ILO).

This assessment of the Labor Inspectorate was conducted to contribute to a better understanding of the legislative, social and administrative environment in which Inspectors function, and the challenges they face in their day‐to‐day work. Information gathered from desk research and interviews with key stakeholders revealed common themes that inform the recommendations in this assessment. This assessment provides an overview of sectors in which child labor is most prevalent, an overview of the legal and policy framework relevant to addressing child labor, an overview pertaining to the activities of the Labor Inspectorate and recommendations to improve their response to child labor, and information on different actors' activities to address child labor.

Aba Roli: The American Bar Ready to Train Paralegal Mayors in Assaba - The American Bar Association was strongly present in Kiffa during the celebration of the day of March 6 dedicated to the fight against slavery and slavery-like practices. The Association of Mayors of Assaba, the  organizer of the day, took advantage of the presence of two representatives of The American Bar Association to request paralegal training for its members newly invested with a mission: popularizing and sensitizing their constituents on Law 2015-031 criminalizing slavery...

A news article reporting on an event in which the Director General of Mauritania's National Solidarity Agency spoke at the opening of a new preparatory school in Hamed -- a city in the province of Kankoussa -- and a health point in Lamzimet -- a village in the nunicipality of Karan in Kifa province.

A news article (titled "National Day Against Slavery: Assaba Mobilizes Around The Criminalization Law") describing an conference held by the Association of Mayors of Assaba, in coordination with the International Labour Office (ILO), held on March 6, 2017 -- the annual International Day against Slavery.  This event informed attendees about Law 2015-031, a new piece of Mauritanian legislation imposing criminal penalties for offenses related to forced and child labor.

Guide to Myanmar Labour Law, intended to provide coherent and user-friendly information on the current legal framework and relevant International Labour Standards to employers, workers, and other relevant stakeholders. 

Training module in the 3-R Trainer's Kit.  This module deals with self-awareness and identity of children, youth and adults. It aims to help especially young people to better understand and appreciate themselves, their community, and their social environment. Participants will be asked to explore their own character and identity, as well as their aspirations and means to realize them. It is important for children and youth to know who they are and what they want, and understand and respect that each individual is different. Although this module is designed primarily for children and youth, the exercises can also be used with adult women and men. 

Training module in the 3-R Trainer's Kit.  This module provides practical knowledge and tools on safe migration and job search for older youth and adults. The first unit explains how to benefit from migration, engage in safe migration and avoid the risks of human trafficking. The second unit provides practical steps in seeking employment, from setting employment goals and doing job searches to applying for jobs and preparing for job interviews.
