Testimony on Locating Missing and Lost Participants

This document is the testimony of John A. Turner of the Pension Policy Center before the ERISA Advisory Council on the issue of locating missing and lost pension participants. It discusses the experience of pension registries in the United Kingdom and Australia, and proposes lessons and solutions for addressing the problem of lost pensions in the United States, including the establishment of a centralized pension plan registry and sending lost defined contribution funds to the Social Security OASI Trust Fund.
