The OFCCP Southeast Region extends this invitation for you to join us in connecting and providing great information on opportunities for students with disabilities at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This webinar will be an open forum discussion on federal agencies’ initiatives surrounding individuals with disabilities, information sharing from organizations who are committed to serving individuals with disabilities and ultimately collaborating all of the efforts for a more sustainable outcome.

During this webinar, you will hear from OFCCP, Office of Disability Employment Policy, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration & Management, Disability:IN, and Southeast ADA Center who will discuss its agencies, efforts, and resources to assist students with disabilities.

This webinar is open to HBCU coordinators/staff involved with assisting individuals with disabilities, students, and others that may benefits from this discussion. We have great information to share and want to hear from you!

We will discuss the different stages of a supply and service compliance review and common problem areas. Attendance is free and open to supply and service federal contractors. Most employers are required to pay minimum wage and overtime to workers in accordance with the FLSA. The OFCCP Atlanta District Office invites you to attend our upcoming virtual webinar “Proudly They Served – Hiring Today’s Veterans”. During this webinar, you will hear from The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Atlanta District Office and The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Michael Poyma who will discuss strategies for recruiting, hiring and retaining veteran talent. Attendees will be guided through the various nuances of the largest obstacle to veterans’ employment: the military – civilian cultural gap. Additionally, attendees will leave with takeaways, resources and information that would better assist in the hiring of veterans.

Objectives of this event include: 1) to inform the audience about what the military – civilian cultural gap is in broad terms, and the impact of this divide on veterans’ abilities to obtain suitable employment after military service, 2) to inform and motivate the audience about actions they can take to bridge the military –civilian cultural gap, 3) to empower the audience with resources and opportunities to expand their network, all to help our veterans gain improved employment outcomes.
