The Tatpartaa  (the Nepali word for commitment and ability to respond) project in Nepal will build the capacity of local communities to address child labor and forced labor, with a specific focus on confronting new challenges resulting from the impact of climate change.

AgroJusto: Project to Improve Adherence to International Labor Standards in the Agricultural Sector in Ecuador

The AgroJusto Project, implemented by Partners of the Americas, aims to improve compliance with international labor standards in the cut flower sector in Cotopaxi and the banana sector in El Oro. The project will use an area-based approach, reinforcing local ownership and building the capacity of local private, community, and government stakeholders. It will empower worker organizations, producer associations community and indigenous groups, and local entities to address labor violations.

Project to Increase Municipal Collective Action to Address Child Labor and Forced Labor in Mexico

The project will build capacity among municipal stakeholders, such as government officials, workers, worker organizations, labor unions, civil society organizations, community groups, and private-sector stakeholders, to work together to design and implement locally led actions to address child and forced labor in targeted municipalities in Chiapas and San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Research to Action II (RTA II): Using Knowledge to Inform Action for the Elimination of Child Labor and Forced Labor

The Research to Action II initiative will improve information-sharing between researchers and decision makers on child labor, forced labor, and other labor rights issues. It will strengthen statistical and research capacities of partner governments and other stakeholders, produce research and research tools, and coordinate with policy makers on a shared research agenda to advance labor rights, with a focus on child labor and forced labor.

The Project to Increase Worker Voice and Address Forced Labor, Child Labor, and Other Labor Violations in Cattle Raising Areas of Brazil and Paraguay will help to increase collective action by workers organizations (WOs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) to address forced labor, child labor, and other labor violations in cattle raising areas of Brazil and Paraguay, specifically in the Brazilian State of Mato Grosso do Sul and in the Paraguayan Department of Boquerón in the Chaco region.

Glocal Unified Assistance and Resources for Development, Inspiration and Academic Navigation (Guardian) Project

Building upon previous impact evaluation research on school dropout and human trafficking, the GUARDIAN project aims to expand the pool of rigorous evidence on what works to combat child labor. The project acronym combines several important aspects of the project’s approach. The word “glocal”—which means to combine the global and the local—comes from the project’s dual emphasis on taking rigorous evidence from around the globe and applying it in a context-sensitive manner with local partners.
