Are You Prepared for Construction Audit

Do you need training or a refresher with what documents you need to maintain to demonstrate your Affirmative Action/EEO Obligations? Do you want to learn, what is involved during a construction audit and how to prepare, when you receive the scheduling (audit) letter? This session is for new and experienced federal and federally-assisted construction contractors looking to understand OFCCP’s regulations, and procedures, what documentation would be required under the audit process, and for those who are working on or planning to work on federal projects.

This virtual event is free for the construction industry, but space is limited. This event is being hosted by the OFCCP Baltimore District Office.

Healthcare Worker Whistleblower Stakeholder Meeting

OSHA is holding a virtual meeting to solicit public comments and suggestions on how the agency can improve the whistleblower program, particularly concerning healthcare workers.

The agency will provide Spanish language translation during the meeting. Those interested in joining or participating in the meeting must register in English or Spanish by May 11. 

OSHA is seeking comments on:

  1. How can OSHA deliver better whistleblower customer service?
  2. What kind of assistance can OSHA provide to help explain the agency’s whistleblower laws to employees and employers?
  3. What can OSHA do to ensure that healthcare workers are protected from retaliation for raising concerns related to COVID-19?

Submit comments at the Federal eRulemaking Portal and identify using Docket No. OSHA-2018-0005. The deadline for submitting comments is May 11. Read the Federal Register notice for details.

Workers Memorial Day

On April 28, OSHA and the nation annually recognize Workers Memorial Day. The day honors those who lost their lives on the job, and recognizes the impact these tragic losses have on families, co-workers and communities. It also affirms OSHA's commitment to worker safety and health. 

OSHA's National Office will live stream an event commemorating the day.

What restaurant industry stakeholders need to know about the Fair Labor Standards Act’s (FLSA) Essential Worker Protections

​In recognition of National Waitstaff Day, the Wage and Hour Division’s (WHD) Northeast Region is pleased to offer virtual “Essential Workers, Essential Protections” training for employers and employees in the food services industry.

The presentation will discuss common FLSA minimum wage, overtime, and child labor violations found in the restaurant industry and how to avoid them. The webinar will also discuss recent regulatory changes involving tipped workers and tipped pools. A Q&A period will follow the presentation and links to WHD resource materials will be provided.

Compliance Assistance WEBINAR for Construction Contractors

OFCCP Nashville DO will hold a compliance assistance/information session in collaboration with the Women’s Bureau and a notable female CBO to educate construction contractors on how to meet their EEO/Affirmative Action obligations and introduce a community-based organization that may provide resources to assist with female utilization on their construction projects.

OFCCP will provide a brief overview of the construction contractor’s obligations under the laws we enforce. The Women’s Bureau will present on the pay gap, occupational segregation, recruiting and retaining women by having an equitable culture, as well as, providing information on formerly incarcerated women re-entering the workforce.
