Essential Work in Unprecedented Times: A virtual webinar for grocery workers & employers in the Southeast region

Submitted by Johnson.Wendy@… on

During the COVID-19 pandemic, workers in grocery stores have remained on the job despite many potential risks to their own health or that of their families. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) protects the workplace rights of these essential workers who have been keeping our country moving forward during this pandemic. WHD is committed to ensuring that these businesses and their employees know what the law requires and how to be in compliance so that businesses and workers can thrive.

Rapid changes in the workplace have led to many questions for workers, their advocates, and employers about wage issues. Workplace laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act and its child labor provisions provide protections for workers that may be more crucial now than ever before.

WHD is pleased to offer training on these critical workplace protections as part of the Essential Workers - Essential Protections Initiative.
