The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration today announced the award of a $41 million, five-year contract to operate the Wind River Job Corps center in Fremont, Wyo. Wind River will be the newest facility in the Job Corps program, which serves disadvantaged young people. The center will feature a state-of-the-art energy technology program, the first of its kind in the nation. The first students are expected to arrive at Wind River Job Corps by the end of 2015.

LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Department of Labor has filed a lawsuit against the fiduciaries of the City National Corp. Profit Sharing Plan. Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Western Division, the lawsuit alleges that the plan lost more than $4 million when fiduciaries engaged in self-dealing and conflicted transactions involving plan assets when they caused the plan to pay excessive fees to City National Bank and its affiliates.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Labor today announced the state of Missouri will receive a grant worth more than $5 million to explore, develop, and test strategies that improve employment outcomes for young adults in the St. Louis area.

The funding will expand the local network of American Job Centers and encourage greater collaboration between the workforce system and community organizations to better serve area youth with little-to-no work experience or post-secondary education.
