The Problem

The need for assistance to member States and ILO constituents to take targeted action to eliminate the worst forms of child labor. An increasing demand to for quality baseline surveys and sound data collection techniques.

Our Strategy

Project Objectives:

  1. Six countries will be assisted with the development and implementation of National Plans of Action.
  2. Baseline Survey OfficerwillcoordinateSIMPOC’s assistance to project-based baseline surveys and will ensure that data obtained is reliable and timely. An Evaluation Officer will provide assistance on USDOL evaluations and impact assessments.
  3. Projects and addendums to projects will be designed and the project documents and addendum proposals submitted.

Summary of Activities:

Provide follow up to the Global Action Plan through building capacity to develop and/or implement National Plans of Action in Burundi, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Guatemala, Lao PDR, and Mongolia.  Provide support for baseline surveys and evaluations, conducting strategic and thematic evaluations, and advancing the project design process to integrate relevant impact evaluation methodologies from the outset.  Develop project documents for USDOL funded projects in FY09.
