A report describing the findings of a 2018  baseline survey conducted during the Soutenir les Acteurs de la Vanille au Bénéfice des Enfants (Support to Vanilla Sector Stakeholders to Benefit Children) project. The survey was conducted within 32 communes and aimed to collect accurately sampled data on children, their families, the impact on the children’s education, and family/community understanding of child labor and its consequences, to contribute to appropriate program design and delivery; and to establish a set of data that would serve as a baseline against which future data collection could be compared in order to evaluate progress or reorient program activity.

A high-level review of interventions (projects and initiatives) that aim to address child labor and poor working conditions (either directly or indirectly) in the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) sector across different minerals. Report includes information on existing and completed projects funded primarily by international donors, but not those funded/implemented by governments or the private sector. Information gathered primarily through desk research and interviews conducted by Levin Sources for the ILO.

This review is aimed at determining the extent to which national laws, regulations, policies and other measures, as well as the existing practices in Myanmar are implementing the requirements of the international standards on child labour, such as in particular the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; the ILO Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No.138)and the ILO Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No.182). The review is articulated around three specific objectives, namely to (i)identify the relevant provisions of national laws, regulations, policies, etc. which aim at implementing those relevant international standards; (ii)determine whether and how these international standards are reflected by such national provisions in Myanmar; and (iii)recommend the necessary changes that need to be made to law and practice to ensure compliance with those ratified international standards and effectively eliminate child labour and protect young workers.

The Toolkit on Developing National Action Plans on Forced Labour aims to support stakeholders in developing, implementing and monitoring National Action Plans (NAPs). It draws upon models and good practices from numerous countries to present the overall NAP development process, from the preliminary assessment of forced labor, to the final evaluation of the NAP.
