This presentation outlines an introduction on the context of the Child Labor Monitoring System (CLMS), the definitions and framework of Child Labor Monitoring (CLM), the concerns of CLMS in Ghana, and suggestions on how the execution of the CLMS can be more effective.

This guidebook provides information on the concept and elements of a community-based early detection mechanism for labor exploitation of fishing vessel crews. The guidebook also provides details on the roles and responsibilities that community stakeholders can have within such mechanism, as well as instructions on how to conduct an investigation in addition to a case record book which can be used to log incident reports.

This is one of 12 tools comprising the Socially Sustainable Sourcing Toolkit (S3T), which was developed as part of Verité’s Cooperation on Fair, Free, Equitable Employment (COFFEE) Project through generous funding from the US Department of Labor’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (USDOL-ILAB).

This methodological guide describes the steps to follow to enter cases of child labor that have been identified and fully addressed by organized civil society organizations into the official records and systems to monitor the withdrawal situation of girls and boys from these activities.

This  guide  is  a  joint  endeavor  by  Verité  and  the  Labour  Department  to  help  build the  capacities  of  labor  inspectors  to  conduct  labor  inspections  in  both  the  formal and  informal  sectors  with  emphasis  on  the  informal  sector  with  the  incidence  of forced  labor  with its negative consequences on individuals, families, societies and the nation of Ghana as a whole. It will also increase collaboration and coordination amongst stakeholders working on forced labor and human trafficking to share information for improved performance.

What To Do About Child Labor: These are some recommendations given by the ICBF for an appropriate management of the situation when faced with child labor.

An article reporting that the Somos Tesoro project, Acción Fund and Sustainable Week presented the Mayors of nine municipalities of Antioquia and Boyacá with the Somos Tesoro award for the actions taken in 2016 to prevent and eliminate child labor in mining.

A curriculum manual, jointly developed by Verite and the Ghanaian Labour Department, that contains lessons and best practices for Ghanaian Labour Inspectors on how to approach issues related to forced and child labor when conducting labor inspections.

A two-page brochure highlighting activities of the CLEAR II project in Burkina Faso. Particular focus paid to the program creating a labor inspectorate training curriculum, efforts to help local government draft a national strategy for fighting child labor, and development of a child labor monitoring system.
