A progress report document outlining the highlights of efforts made by the ATLAS project between January 2019 through June 2020. ATLAS is a project which supports government efforts to combat child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking through streghening legal frameworks, improving enforcement of the labor and criminal frameworks, and increasing coordination between government and social protection entities.

Somos Tesoro Activates The New Stage in Boyaca: In the month of March, Somos Tesoro held two events in Boyacá aimed at activating the lines of action of the project - Sustainability and Dissemination - inviting public entities, private companies, trade associations, among others, to join forces to outline common objectives and manage the permanence in time of the Project activities.

Small Mining: the innovation contest for artisanal and small-scale mining, organized by ARM within the framework of Somos Tesoro, made it possible for these miners to have today the water treatment system powered by the mill of wind. Thus, the water that previously polluted is now used for irrigation.

Somos Tesoro Says Goodbye: On Thursday, August 16, within the framework of the Mining and Construction Fair, the closing ceremony of the Somos Tesoro project was held in Boyacá. A project that, in its mission to reduce child labor, for five years has enriched the lives of 1,439 Boyacá homes, 66 coal mining units, 1,223 male and female miners, 226 public officials and 2,580 children and adolescents, all of them in Sugamuxi province.

The Toolkit on Developing National Action Plans on Forced Labour aims to support stakeholders in developing, implementing and monitoring National Action Plans (NAPs). It draws upon models and good practices from numerous countries to present the overall NAP development process, from the preliminary assessment of forced labor, to the final evaluation of the NAP.

The Responsible Recruitment Pilot Model is intended to serve as a model for a company-led action to address forced labor and human trafficking in the recruitment process, and for recruiters’ compliance with recruitment policies and procedures. This manual will enable small and medium-sized companies, which account for more than 99 percent of seafood processors in Thailand, and recruiters to embed a responsible recruitment process in their practice. This document also includes a variety of tools to help facilitate due diligence processes relevant to labor recruitment.
