This handbook aims to improve and facilitate conducting research on forced labor. Due to a need for careful attention to key ethical and safety considerations to protect study participants and interviewers and to produce and use findings that will benefit the affected communities, this handbook helps researchers to identify ethical issues with research involving exploited individuals and provide user-friendly guidance to protect the safety of study participants and researchers. Guidance is provided in the categories of research design, research implementation and data collection, and data analysis and reporting.
