The U.S. Department of Labor’s Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) has 11 Resource Centers nationwide to help workers and their families apply for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA).

The Resource Centers (RCs) are situated in key geographic locations throughout the United States to provide assistance and information to the claimant community. The RCs work with claimants and Authorized Representatives to make the claim submission process as easy as possible and at no cost to you.  Listed below are some of the main functions of our RCs.  While the RCs are here to help, we want to remind you that they do not play a role in the development, approval, and/or denial process.  For your convenience, the Resource Centers provide assistance either in person or over the telephone.

Resource Center are here to:

  • Explain what compensation and benefits are available.
  • Help each employee and/or survivor file a claim for benefits.
  • Explain how to file additional claims for wage loss and impairment.
  • Help claimants complete the necessary forms and occupational history questionnaire.
  • Provide ongoing claim status and continuous support throughout the claims process.
  • Submit documents to DEEOIC.
  • Conduct community outreach and support DOL outreach events across the country.
  • Explain medical benefits available under EEOICPA.
  • Help complete medical and travel reimbursement forms for out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Help resolve medical billing issues associated with approved conditions.
  • Guide medical providers on program enrollment.
  • Assist with prior authorization for medical procedures, home health care, durable medical equipment, and non-local travel associated with a covered condition.

Our 11 Resource Centers are the only centers the U.S. DOL contracts for services related to claims.  Our RCs serve as a first line resource for you, the claimant.  Once your claim has been filed, you will work with U.S. DOL Claims Examiners and Medical Benefits Examiners to complete the process.

A list of the Resource Center locations and a map that shows their geographical jurisdictions is shown below.
