Suicide Prevention Week, Sept. 5-9

Submitted by Fraser.Elaine@… on

It is important to recognize that work-related stress can have a severe impact on mental health and, without proper support, can lead to suicide.

Worker suicides are particularly concerning for the construction industry. The suicide rate for construction workers is four times higher than in the general population, largely due to work-related stresses such as seasonal work, demanding schedules and workplace injuries.

September 5-9 is Suicide Prevention Week when events will be held nationwide to raise awareness about the unique challenges construction workers face and what we can do to help safeguard their mental health and lives. Register your participation online and visit OSHA's Preventing Suicides webpage for more resources.

Trade Adjustment Assistance Data Integrity (TAADI)

Purpose

To update TAADI instructions, previously issued in Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) No. 01-19. TAADI is a required component of quarterly reporting submitted by State Workforce Agencies or agencies designated by Governors as “Cooperating State Agencies” (“states”) and established procedures for corrective action by the U.S. Department of Labor (Department) in the event of non-compliance. The updated guidance provides clarifying language and better captures how the TAADI process adapts over time.
