Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)
The Site Exposure Matrices (SEM) website has been updated! This update makes the website current through May 16, 2024. New information is now available for twenty-one (21) Department of Energy (DOE) sites, including significant additions to ten (10) locations including the Mound Plant, Mound Plant Closure - 1995-2010; the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant (K-25) Closure - 1988 and beyond; the Pantex Plant; the Pinellas Plant; the Project Chariot Nuclear Explosion Site; the Project Rio Blanco Nuclear Explosion Site; the Uranium Mill in Falls City, TX (remediation); the Uranium Mill in Gunnison, CO (remediation); and the Uranium Mill in Lowman, ID (remediation).
The Department of Labor (DOL) received eight (8) Internet Accessible SEM Website (IAS) public submittals related to five (5) toxic substances and three (3) disease inputs since the last update on November 17th, 2023. Although none of the latest submittals resulted in any SEM profile revisions, DEEOIC continues to advocate for the public to submit information or documentation through the IAS Website about toxic substances or diseases associated with nuclear weapons work conducted at covered locations under the Act.
Since the SEM first became available to the public in March 2010, there have been 27 revisions of the SEM website. Prior to the release of each new version, the US Department of Energy (DOE) reviews the new and revised information to ensure that no classification issues exist.
