Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)

Outreach in Middle Island, New York - Staff from the DEEOIC National Office (NO) hosted an outreach event at the Longwood Public Library in Middle Island, New York on May 2, 2019. Representatives from the Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Energy (DOE), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the Office of the Ombudsman for DOL presented information on their roles in the Program. Staff members were available between the hours of 10:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm, to assist individuals with filing new claims, filing for new conditions, and for status updates on existing EEOICPA claims. A total of about 95 people attended the event, 14 new claims were taken, and there were 39 claim status checks.
