Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)
Outreach Event: Ames, Iowa - Staff from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) Cleveland District Office hosted an outreach event in Ames, Iowa, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Staff from Cleveland District Office discussed medical benefits, as well as the mission of the EEOICPA. The presentation included specific information concerning medical authorizations, bill processing, and home health care services to those that need them!
After the presentation concluded, the DEEOIC’s Cleveland District Office and Denver Resource Center staff to assist DEEOIC claimants with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and to provide claimants with status updates on their existing EEOICPA claims. In addition, representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy and its Ames Laboratory Former Worker Program, the Department of Labor, Office of the Ombudsman for the EEOICPA, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), were also available to assist with questions. Thirty-eight (38) people attended the event. The event attracted 38 people. Seven (7) new claims were received; 16 status checks were conducted; and several people requested RC contact information to follow up at a later date.
