This Statement of Reasons is in response to your complaint filed on January 11, 2010, alleging that a violation of Title III of the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA or Act), 29 U.S.C. §461-464, occurred on January 4, 2010 when Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers (Union) imposed a trusteeship over Local 36.
The Department of Labor (Department) instituted an investigation of your allegations. During the course of the Department’s investigation, the Union initiated the process of electing new officers. An officer election was held on May 15, 2010 and the trusteeship was terminated on May 31, 2010. Therefore, your complaint is moot and no further action by the Department is necessary. Accordingly, I have closed the file regarding this matter.
