Bookkeeping PowerPoint presentations now available on The Department of Labor's Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) Web site.

The Office of Labor-Management Standards has created three PowerPoint presentations that demonstrate three possible bookkeeping methodologies that might provide some insight as to how unions may want to set up their various accounts to conform to the revised Form LM-2. The presentations are now available for download from:

The presentations demonstrate how the methodologies could be implemented using MS Money, Peachtree, and Quicken. (We will add a QuickBooks presentation shortly.) The Department of Labor is not endorsing or recommending these accounting software packages. Each was chosen because they are commonly used commercial-off-the-shelf packages that are widely available. The presentations describe the process of allocating receipts and disbursements.

The presentations with audio are extremely large and are only recommended for users with a high speed Internet connection. The are compressed zip files and the presentations must be extracted before use.

The presentation without audio are not zipped and may be viewed in their current format (PowerPoint Show --.pps) after download.
