Simplifying the existing toolkit must go hand in hand with project staff advising each private sector stakeholder how it can practically assist its key staff (managers, administrators, extension workers, and cooperative personnel) to apply the toolkit to their specific social compliance needs. This approach was effective in the Brazil pilot project. The current challenge in Brazil is to scale up the training and engage with a larger number and a wider range of companies and coffee growers, including middle-range producers who are the most dependent on labor hired through intermediaries.
