Training is most effective when it is designed to meet the needs of participants including content, methodology, and language. Some who participated in training provided by the project believe the training did not fully meet their needs. The training content was too theoretical and general and was not tailored to the participants’ context (work experience). In other cases, the training methodology did not focus enough on practicing the application of new skills and knowledge. In addition, training effectiveness would be increased if offered in the native languages of participants rather than using interpreters.
