This report provides detailed statistical information on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of working children 5 to 17 years of age, as well as some related information on the households they belong to. The report also contains survey findings about children’s non-economic activities, principally, attending school and engagement in household chores An important feature of the report is that the estimates and classifications of working children and child labor are aligned to the international statistical measurement standards on child labor adopted in 2008 at the 18th International Conference of Labour Statisticians. |

Assessment of the Nepal Labor Inspectorate's Work on Child Labor 2015

The purpose of the assessment was to gain an understanding of the inspectorate’s mandate and authority, as well as its resources, management structure and overall ability to enforce national laws and meet international obligations as they pertain to child labor. Information gleaned from the assessment will be used to develop tools and a training program on eliminating child labor for inspectors and other relevant personnel, such as trainers, managers and those working within the Child Labor Elimination Section at Nepal’s Department of Labor.
