This document presents the main findings of a June-November 2020 study by the OFFSIDE (ILO) project assessing the impacts of water access interventions (undertaken by the ProHuerta Programme) on the organization of work in family agriculture. Specifically, this study examined the ways that improved access to water contributed to the prevention of child labor, especially in the agricultural and rural sector.

This training manual was developed within the framework of the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) "Together Against  Child  Labor  in Tunisia" (PROTECTE) project. The  objective  of  this  project  is  to  provide  support  to  the  Tunisian Government  and  key  stakeholders  in  the  implementation  of the  National  Action Plan to Combat Child Labor(PAN-TN). This manual is a technical training tool intended for field workers (labor inspectors, medical labor inspectors,  social  workers, child  protection  officers,  judicial  police officers, social partners  and civil society) working with children at risk of and/or engaged in child labor. This manual should enable field actors to understand the key concepts, normative framework and good practices related to child labor; appreciate the importance of taking child labor into consideration in their areas of work; recognize their role in protecting children from exploitation; and transform the knowledge gained from the training into concrete measures that reduce the prevalence of child labor.

This stakeholder assessment report addresses:  the capacity, resources, and systems of cocoa cooperatives and local enforcement regimes that are tasked with monitoring and enforcing child labor laws in the Ashanti region; current programs in the Ashanti region relevant to child labor (e.g. livelihood, social protection, and child labor remediation services); and remaining gaps in and barriers to monitoring, enforcement, and accountability for child labor violations and child labor survivor access to services.

A market analysis and beneficiary needs assessments commissioned by the BRIDGE project as part of an effort to increase awareness and access to livelihood programmes for victims of forced labour. 

The specific objectives of the assessment were:

-Mapping of recently completed and on-going livelihood programmes for forced labour target group, particularly Haruwa-Charuwawith the support of relevant development partners;

-Analyze labour market situation, identification of trades/skills in demands, possibilities of employment and self-employment inrespective trades;

-Undertake needs assessment of targeted gender-sensitive beneficiary of forced labour, particularly Haruwa-Charuwa;

-Recommendations for cost-effective, target group (forced labour, particularly Haruwa-Charuwa) focused, sustainable livelihood options/programmes linking with employment or self-employment. 

This report outlines the results of a Technical Expert Committee review of the RICHES project and the economic empowerment toolkit it designed.  This resource lists the members of the Technical Expert Committee, highlights their preliminary input and feedback on the tools, and presents implications for tool and/or toolkit revisions.

Employs a cross-sectional method incorporating both qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative methods were used to capture data through mini-survey with direct Haruwa-Charuwabeneficiaries, desk review from literature and secondary sources on income and financial indicators measuring business viability. Qualitative methods were used to collect data through purposively selected Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Key Informant Interview (KII), field observation and interaction with the direct Haruwa-Charuwabeneficiaries, training service providers, NGOs, financial institutions and employersto gather in depth information and understanding of livelihoods and market structure. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to collect Haruwa-Charuwaaspirations on business preferences.
