A legal review of national laws and regulations related to child labour in Myanmar in light of international laws and standards 1st edition (Burmese)

The 1st edition, Burmese language results of a 2015 study assessing whether existing national legislation is comprehensive enough to address child labour issues in Myanmar, with a special attention to the worst forms of child labour. This report aims to identify major issues and gaps and provide recommendations on the revision of national legislation pertaining to child labour, particularly hazardous work for minors, and possible approaches to effectively implement and monitor the laws. Reviews existing national laws and regulations in light of the international laws and standards relevant to the elimination of child labour and protection of young workers, in particular its two core Conventions: i.e. ILO Convention No. 138 on Minimum Age, 1973, and the ILO Convention No. 182 on Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999. |

A manual intended for extension officers in their engagement with farmers, farm workers and farmer groups to facilitate their understanding of the three components of this manual; Unit 1: Understanding the Concepts of Child Labour, Unit 2: Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSH&E) in the Agriculture Sector of Ghana, and Unit 3: The Role of Agriculture Extension Officers in Implementing the Ghana Child Labour Monitoring System (GCLMS). Under each unit, the trainer is given basic notes on the objectives for the unit, expected outputs, sessions and duration, preparation, materials required, methodology, procedure, evaluation, and key messages. The units are also supported with a resource section to furnish the trainer with key information that will enhance their capability to facilitate the sessions. |

This is volume I of the report on the assessment, detailing the findings and recommendations for strengthening national capacity to coordinate and implement the NP on child labor in Ghana. Volume II of the report contains more detailed information on the process and methodology employed in the assessment as well as annexes. The reports are contained in two volumes to make it easier to read. The review looks into national, district and local capacity to implement the NPA and to coordinate interventions to eliminate child labor. The main focus for the exercise is on coordination, but other dimensions of capacity are also explored. Therefore, this report includes conclusions and recommendations pertaining to coordination, but also towards other dimensions of capacity that were found to be critical. |

This study aims to support national efforts to eliminate Worst Forms of Child Labor (WFCL) in the fishing sector. The purpose is to create a shared platform for action against child labor and trafficking in that sector. Specifically, the study's objectives are (i) to examine the scope of the problem of child labor in fishing on Lake Volta (ii) to find out the nature and dimensions of child labor in Lake Volta fishing, including the extent of trafficking into the sector especially of children from other regions and countries. (iii) to find out how the marketing and supply chains work and the underlying motive of fishing operators regarding the use of children (iv) to recommend measures to enhance interventions against child labor in the fishing sector in Ghana; and (v) to support the validation of research findings. |
