Module 11: A Smart Worker - Empowerment for children, youth and families: 3R trainers’ kit on rights, responsibilities and representation - Supporting Life Skills in Myanmar (Burmese)

Training module in the 3-R Trainer's Kit. This module discusses the key responsibilities of workers and and explains their fundamental rights at work. In the first unit, participants are familiarized with workers’ basic responsibilities at work and in the family. The second unit gives an overview of the fundamental principles and rights at work as agreed by ILO member States in 1998. Emphasis is given to the principles: “No to Discrimination” and “Right to Organize”, as these are vital for realizing decent work for all workers in the global economy. The unit concludes with an introduction to decent work for domestic workers. Finally, Unit 3 discusses priority health issues at work: maternity protection, occupational safety and health and fair treatment of workers living with HIV and Aids. |

The objectives of this report are to determine the magnitude and characteristics of economic activity (occupancy rates, child labor, hazardous work, risk of forced labor) and to analyze patterns of time use (participation in economic activities, school attendance and participation in housework at home) of children aged 5 to 17 years in Peru. It also aims to analyze the determinants of the relationship between the participation of children of this age group in economic activities and school, describe the relationship between child labor and health, estimate the magnitude and characterize the participation of children in domestic tasks in the home itself, and present the progress of the National Strategy for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor project from 2012-2021. |

Reducing Vulnerability to Human Trafficking: An Experimental Intervention Using Anti-Trafficking Campaigns to Change Knowledge, Attitudes, Beliefs, and Practices in Nepal

This report presents findings from a randomized controlled trial that studies the effects of mass media awareness campaigns on norms and behaviors related to a person’s vulnerability to human trafficking in Nepal. It aims to address whether such campaigns can be employed to induce shifts in knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and practices (KABP) that could reduce human trafficking vulnerability. Funding for this project was provided by the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) at Stanford University, the Hoover Institute at Stanford University, Humanity United, the Institute of International Education (IIE), Terre des Hommes (TDH), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID),United States Department of Labor (DOL), and Vanderbilt University. |

A legal review of national laws and regulations related to child labour in Myanmar in light of international laws and standards 1st edition (English)

The 1st edition of results of a 2015 study assessing whether existing national legislation is comprehensive enough to address child labour issues in Myanmar, with a special attention to the worst forms of child labour. Aims to identify major issues and gaps and provide recommendations on the revision of national legislation pertaining to child labour, particularly hazardous work for minors, and possible approaches to effectively implement and monitor the laws. Reviews existing national laws and regulations in light of the International laws and standards relevant to the elimination of child labour and protection of young workers, in particular its two core Conventions: i.e. ILO Convention No. 138 on Minimum Age, 1973, and the ILO Convention No. 182 on Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999. |
