Supplemental materials for course "Combating child labour in Myanmar: A course for Civil Society Organizations" (Burmese/Myanmar).  This document provides supplemental information about child labour, ILO global estimates, international standards and key roles and actions for specific stakeholders for course facilitators. You are encouraged to review this material prior to implementing the course; it should be used alongside the facilitator’s guide and other course materials.

This is a report on a workshop meant to raise general awareness among magistrates, law enforcement officers, lawyers, and civil society on the laws and courts established in accordance with 2015 labor laws. The workshop focused particularly on sharing knowledge about slavery and the international standards that are applicable and the participants' role in preventing slavery and forced labor.

The ILO has designed this module to serve as a tool for developing the capabilities of justice operators, particularly in dealing with cases of forced labor, from the criminal legal perspective. This systemization reveals the children's comprehensive understanding of the  interdependence of various factors that affect not only child labor in mining, but also the living conditions of the mining families and communities that are inequitable, unequal, and profoundly violate the rights of children and adolescents.

Guide for the Application of Step 5 - We are a Team - Strategies that Strengthen the Coordination of Municipal Management to Prevent and Reduce Child Labor in Mining: This document presents a guide for the application of the "Comprehensive Territorial Management Route for the Prevention and Elimination of Mining Child Labor", a tool that will provide the relevant authorities a step by step guide to identify, target and detect the populations at greatest risk,  implement prevention strategies, and reduce child labor in informal mining in their municipalities.

Technical Guide for the Implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in Small-Scale Mining:  This guide seeks to guide mining entrepreneurs on how to implement the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SG-SST). The objective of this guide is for small-scale mining employers to have the information required to develop a logical and staged process in their mining company, based on continuous improvement in order to manage the hazards and risks that may affect the safety and health at work.

Guide for the Responsible Management and Alternatives for the Elimination of Mercury in Work Environments of the Mining Sector: Throughout this guide, we will describe the processes in small gold mining that are normally carried out using mercury. We will also detail the sources of contamination to this chemical element, which mining workers are exposed to, and the effects this has on health. This is done with the aim of providing the tools and knowledge to carry out these processes safely and responsibly.
