This report is the outcome of collaborative effort to accurately measure and report on the issue of child labor and hazardous child labor in the cocoa growing areas of Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. The first objective of this study is to assess and measure changes in the prevalence of working children, children in child labor, and children in hazardous work in the cocoa growing areas of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana between 2008/09 and 2018/19. The second objective of the study is to assess interventions implemented between 2008/09 and 2018/19. The final objective of this project is to provide accurate point estimates of child labor and hazardous child labor in the cocoa producing areas of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana for 2018/19. |

Policy Paper. Municipal Government Management of the Brick Industry in Nepal to Address Child Labor and Exploitative Labor.

This policy paper explains the context of the brick industry in Nepal; laws and policies related to its management; and how these are changing in the new federal context. A legal analysis of policy gaps and responsibilities designated to the new local governments is meant to be of interest to local leaders as well as policy makers at the provincial, and federal level supporting them. This paper also provides recommendations for emerging issues to attend to and practical recommendations for ways forward to reduce labor exploitation and child labor and ensure effective industry insight. |
