This report lays out the results from the Survey of Activties of Boys, Girls, and Adolescents in rural areas (EANA) of Paraguay. This research seeks to generate first-hand statistical information that provides a detailed dive into the tasks carried out by children and adolescents who live in rural areas of the country, with particular interest in agricultural, livestock, forestry and fishing economic activities.

This report provides a description of the ECOWAS l and ECOWAS ll projects and aims to highlight the good practices and lessons learned that have been identified throughout the projects. The good practices identified fall under the thematic areas of project design and implementation; legislation; policy development and enforcement; awareness raising; sensitization and advocacy; formal and informal education; social protection mechanisms for family empowerment; learning and sharing; capacity building and the Child Labour Monitoring System (CLMS).

This study aims to support national efforts to eliminate Worst Forms of Child Labor (WFCL) in the fishing sector. The purpose is to create a shared platform for action against child labor and trafficking in that sector. Specifically, the study's objectives are (i) to examine the scope of the problem of child labor in fishing on Lake Volta (ii) to find out the nature and dimensions of child labor in Lake Volta fishing, including the extent of trafficking into the sector especially of children from other regions and countries. (iii) to find out how the marketing and supply chains work and the underlying motive of fishing operators regarding the use of children (iv) to recommend measures to enhance interventions against child labor in the fishing sector in Ghana; and (v) to support the validation of research findings.

A report presenting results of research into the types and the magnitude of workplace hazards children were exposed to in Ethiopia, especially in the traditional weaving, farming and fishing sectors. Presents suggestions for standards that could be imposed upon informal labor sectors in two zones of the South Nation and Nationalities People Region, Wolayta and Gamo Gofa, and Guliele Sub-city in Addis Ababa administrative city.

The purpose of this rapid market assessment was to identify and support the development of economically viable and sustainable livelihoods activities that will address long-term livelihood needs of targeted beneficiaries and communities in Liberia.

This reference material is an addendum to the School Management Committee Resource Handbook. This addendum introduces three important reference materials: Child Labour, Governance and Leadership. Child labour is captured under Section 2 (Access and participation) of the training manual. Leadership and governance is captured under section 3 (management efficiency). This addendum seeks to provide information to trainers/facilitators using the updated SMC Training Manual.

The first part of the report includes a desk review of alternative livelihood sources for cocoa families to provide a list of possible alternative livelihood options in the target communities. The second part, SECTION 2 reports on the availability and viability of alternative and or additional livelihood activities in the target communities. SECTION 3 identifies good practices by past and current alternative livelihood activities in the target communities and discusses possibility for replication. The fourth part, SECTION 4 provides insights into the willingness and readiness of cocoa farmers to engage in the identified alternative livelihood options. The final part, SECTION 5 provides a list of recommendations on the most viable activities that IPEC beneficiaries could immediately engage in to improve their household income.

This presentation highlights information about the ECOWAS project, challenges faced by the project, and information on the  collaboration between NSC and the project.
