This annotated bibliography aims to identify and summarize evidence of the outcomes of labor-focused programs or studies implemented in Colombia from 2011 to 2021, not funded through the United States Department of Labor (USDOL). These programs or studies focus on the five priority sectors identified in the Colombian Action Plan Related to Labor Rights (Labor Action Plan or LAP) to address serious labor concerns in the context of the United States-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (CPTA).1 These priority sectors include (1) ports, (2) flowers, (3) mining, (4) sugar cane, and (5) palm oil.

This document reports on the design of an employment survey in the palm oil industry in Malaysia and includes information on the sample design, questionnaire design, and agreed pilot survey and follow-up activities that lead to the implementation of this project.

This report presents findings on occupational safety and health conditions in Liberia's agriculture sector based on a rapid assessment conducted in Margibi, Montserrado and Nimba Counties in June and July 2015.

A manual intended for extension officers in their engagement with farmers, farm workers and farmer groups to facilitate their understanding of the three components of this manual; Unit 1: Understanding the Concepts of Child Labour, Unit 2: Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSH&E) in the Agriculture Sector of Ghana, and Unit 3: The Role of Agriculture Extension Officers in Implementing the Ghana Child Labour Monitoring System (GCLMS). Under each unit, the trainer is given basic notes on the objectives for the unit, expected outputs, sessions and duration, preparation, materials required, methodology, procedure, evaluation, and key messages. The units are also supported with a resource section to furnish the trainer with key information that will enhance their capability to facilitate the sessions.

This report presents an estimate of the people at risk of forced labor and the risk factors associated with the problem; and presents the results of the field research, which collected qualitative information from key informants and visits to certain farms or plantations. The report also presents the magnitude and characteristics of child labor, through the analysis of official information and field verification and description of the palm and cocoa production processes that incorporate children and adolescents in these activities. This study is the product of a consultancy commissioned from COMUNIDEC by the International Labor Office, and is linked to the expected results of the project "Building effective policies against child labor in Ecuador and Panama" (RLA 104) and the activities of El Plan Global de Acción Financiera.

This baseline report addresses the information gap on the subject of child labor and provides guidance to ARCH management in the design and implementation of the programs aimed at reducing child labor in Liberia.

The first part of the report includes a desk review of alternative livelihood sources for cocoa families to provide a list of possible alternative livelihood options in the target communities. The second part, SECTION 2 reports on the availability and viability of alternative and or additional livelihood activities in the target communities. SECTION 3 identifies good practices by past and current alternative livelihood activities in the target communities and discusses possibility for replication. The fourth part, SECTION 4 provides insights into the willingness and readiness of cocoa farmers to engage in the identified alternative livelihood options. The final part, SECTION 5 provides a list of recommendations on the most viable activities that IPEC beneficiaries could immediately engage in to improve their household income.

This document provides contextual information pertaining to child labor, with a focus on the agriculture industry. The Strategic Plan provides a framework for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture's child labor intervention in the context of the National Plan of Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Ghana (NPA 2009-2015). The strategic plan, a result of a consultative and technical process, identifies results, resources required and roles that the stakeholders in the agricultural sector will play in its implementation.
