An infographic that presents visual representations of facts and statistics related to child labor in the carpet industry of Nepal, including information related to demographics, working conditions, factors leading to labor exploitation, and geographical information. This infographic also includes intervention recommendations.

A compilation of three standalone reports on the situation of children in the brick, zari, and carpet industries across 49 areas of Nepal, based on survey data, case studies, and policy reviews. This information was then used to design awareness raising and prevention activities and to determine rehabilitative services to protect children from further harm and inform local government and NGO policies and future programs.

The purpose of the assessment was to gain an understanding of the inspectorate’s mandate and authority, as well as its resources, management structure and overall ability to enforce national laws and meet international obligations as they pertain to child labor. Information gleaned from the assessment will be used to develop tools and a training program on eliminating child labor for inspectors and other relevant personnel, such as trainers, managers and those working within the Child Labor Elimination Section at Nepal’s Department of Labor.
