Report resulting from a survey/study of the knowledge, attitude and practices surrounding child labour and trafficking among communities in Southern and Central Ethiopia.

A capacity and coordination review commissioned by the ILO/IPEC Cocoa Communities Project in Ghana. This is volume I of the report on the assessment, detailing the findings and recommendations for strengthening national capacity to coordinate and implement the NP on child labor in Ghana. Volume II of the report contains more detailed information on the process and methodology employed in the assessment as well as annexes. The reports are contained in two volumes to make it easier to read. The review looks into national, district and local capacity to implement the NPA and to coordinate interventions to eliminate child labor. The main focus for the exercise is on coordination, but other dimensions of capacity are also explored. Therefore, this report includes conclusions and recommendations pertaining to coordination, but also towards other dimensions of capacity that were found to be critical.

A report presenting results of research into the types and the magnitude of workplace hazards children were exposed to in Ethiopia, especially in the traditional weaving, farming and fishing sectors. This report shares out the results from a rapid assessment on the child labor situation in mining and small scale quarries areas of Ogun and Oyo states of Nigeria in order to inform the extent of project interventions required in the area.

The United States Department of Labor (USDOL) in collaboration with the Government of Tanzania initiated and funded International Rescue Committee (IRC) to undertake the WEKEZA Project with the goal of combatting child labor. The WEKEZA baseline study includes a situational assessment of child labor and the pre-program status of six specified program outcome areas in six targeted Districts: Kasulu, Uvinza, and Kigoma Ujiji in Kigoma Region, and Korogwe, Muheza, and Tanga City in Tanga Region.The first objective of the report is to conduct a situational analysis of specified program-related information; the second objective is to provide baseline values of Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP) indicators; and the third objective is to provide contextual information that can help improve the program design. This baseline survey was carried out in 2013. The analysis combines mixed methods and integrates quantitative and qualitative data collected from households, children, teachers, local leaders, community members, parents and youth. This approach enables a holistic consideration of circumstances that influence child labor and allows findings to be viewed from multiple perspectives.

A technical sheet that presents the minimum information necessary to identify the dangers, the risks in occupational safety, health and psychosocial factors with a special focus on children and adolescents who perform work in street vending various items. The format is based on national regulations and standards related to occupational health and safety. In the same way, it allows families, employers, workers and social and institutional actors to be guided to establish medium and long-term preventive measures that promote adolescent employment in safe conditions.
