The Bridging Barriers and Unlocking Potential (B-UP) project will increase the responsiveness of Cambodian Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and their key stakeholders to address labor exploitation and barriers that impede access to decent work.

The Bridging Barriers and Unlocking Potential (B-UP) project will increase the responsiveness of Cambodian Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and their key stakeholders to address labor exploitation and barriers that impede access to decent work.

The ALFA project will strengthen the capacity of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) sectoral bodies and member countries to coordinate and collaborate to address forced labor and abusive working conditions in the region’s fishing industry. ALFA will focus on ASEAN regional policy implementation, and increased engagement with the private sector, worker organizations, and civil society to mitigate forced labor and trafficking, and improve working conditions for a more sustainable, responsible and resilient fishing sector.

Reduce exploitative child labor in areas with a high prevalence of child labor in agriculture, fishing, and domestic service.

Better Factories Cambodia is part of the Better Work Program, a comprehensive effort that brings together all levels of the apparel industry to improve working conditions and respect of labor rights for workers, while boosting the competitiveness of apparel businesses. As a result of their participation with Better Work, export apparel factories in Cambodia have improved compliance with labor law including issues of compensation, contracts, occupational safety and health and working time. By enhancing working conditions, Better Factories Cambodia increases the factories’ productivity and profitability.

• Integration of HIV/AIDS in the labor policies of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
• Establishment of HIV/AIDS policies and programs in targeted workplaces.
• Implementation of mechanisms for the referral of existing care and support services including home-based care, VCT, etc.
• Training of a core group in the Department of Labor Inspection and Occupational Health Center in the basics of peer education and HIV/AIDS, gender, human rights, etc.
• Conduct meetings with professional organizations and other relevant stakeholders on how to improve worker’s conditions and promote relevant programs supporting workers/employees rights, especially the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.
