U.S. Department of Agriculture
- The Census of Agriculture collects data from agricultural employers on the number of workers they hired and their expenditures for hired and contract workers.
- The Farm Labor Survey collects information about farm workers from farm employers. For the survey reference week, the survey reports the number of workers that were employed, their average hourly earnings, and the number of hours they worked.
- The Agricultural Resource Management Survey, Costs and Returns Report (section 26 of the core questionnaire) asks farm employers how much they paid in cash wages to family, hired and contract labor, and their expenditures for custom work.
U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of the Census
The American Community Survey is a household survey that ask respondents about their most recent job. Occupation information can be used to identify some types of farm workers (e.g., crop and livestock workers).
