- Step 1: For usable data collected and submitted to WHD by third parties, a random sample of WD-10s submitted by these third parties is selected and the contractors listed on those WD-10s are contacted to verify the accuracy of the data submitted; or
- For usable data submitted to WHD by contractors, a random sample of those WD-10s is selected and those contractors are asked to submit copies of the payrolls verifying the information on the submitted WD-10s, and;
- Step 2: Upon completion of the first step, a representative sample of usable data is selected for verification by an on-site visit to the contractor for which the data was submitted, and a review of the contractor's payroll records is conducted by an independent accounting firm.
