To announce the National Rapid Response Initiative, a comprehensive, collaborative effort to promote consistent, high quality, timely and innovative responses to economic transition across the country. Through this Initiative, the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) will collaborate with state and local Rapid Response practitioners and partners to assess the current system capacity, identify areas for improvement, and provide training and technical assistance to support the system in addressing the identified needs.

Availability of Program Year 18 Funding for State Apprenticeship Expansion

Purpose

To announce the availability of $73 million in Program Year (PY 18) funds to States to increase the number of apprentices in Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs). To announce allotment levels and application procedures. To provide guidance on the use of funds.

This guidance announces the phasing out of State Apprenticeship Expansion grants (FOA-ETA-16-13) and plans to further support statewide apprenticeship expansion by granting PY 18 apprenticeship funds appropriated under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 (P.L. 115-141) to States, as defined at 29 CFR Section 29.2. The term "State" means "any of the 50 States of the United States, District of Columbia, or any Territory or possession of the United States."

To inform State Workforce Agencies (SWA) and Monitor Advocates (MA) of the 2019 Monitor Advocate National Training sponsored by the Employment and Training Administration (ETA). The training will be held at the Denver Federal Center (DFC) in Denver, Colorado, June 25-28, 2019. Some Regional Monitor Advocates (RMA) may request that the State Monitor Advocates (SMA) in their region stay until 12pm on Friday for pre-harvest discussions.
