US Department of Labor, Holder Construction Group LLC partner to promote safety at data center project

Partnership underscores safety of employees, subcontractors

OSHA’s Fort Worth Area Office and Holder Construction Group LLC. signed a partnership on May 4, 2023, to promote workplace safety and health during construction of two data centers in Red Oak. Attending the signing were Holder Construction Superintendent Seth W. Widner, Genera Superintendent Cesar Ponce, Vice President Terry Mick and OSHA Fort Worth Area Office Director Timothy Minor.

Partnership description: OSHA’s area office in Fort Worth, Texas, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Holder Construction Group LLC to focus on preventing work-related fatalities, controlling, eliminating serious workplace hazards and establishing a foundation for the development of an effective safety and health program. 

Background: The OSHA Strategic Partnership Program brings employers, employees, professional and trade associations, labor organizations and other interested stakeholders together to establish specific goals, strategies and performance measures to improve worker safety and health.

Project: As general contractor, Holder Construction Group LLC will oversee construction of two data centers in Red Oak.

The partnership calls for Holder to train workers on how to recognize and avoid construction safety and health hazards and stop work authority. OSHA will provide 30-hour certifications for safety managers, project managers and superintendents. Workers will also participate in a mentorship program to develop model safety and health programs and hold weekly toolbox meetings on safety and evaluating safe working conditions.
