OSHA allies with Amarillo chapter of Associated General Contractors Panhandle of Texas for construction worker safety

Associated General Contractors Panhandle of Texas Chapter, Amarillo, Texas

Alliance description: The department and the Amarillo chapter of the Associated General Contractors Panhandle have signed an alliance to share information and guidance, and provide access to training resources to protect employees' safety and health. The alliance will focus on reducing and preventing exposure to fall hazards, the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry; electrical hazards; and struck-by and caught-in-between hazards from vehicles, cranes and other machinery.

Duration: The alliance has a two-year term.

Quote: “This alliance reflects our commitment to strengthen collaborative efforts to promote safety and health for construction workers,” said Elizabeth Linda Routh, OSHA’s area director in Lubbock. “Together, we will take an aggressive and positive approach to place workplace safety and health at the forefront of construction work every day for workers of all trades.”
