The Evidence Act directs federal agencies to designate three Evidence Officials to ensure effective implementation of the law: an Evaluation Officer, Statistical Official, and Chief Data Officer.
Each Evidence Official has unique responsibilities corresponding to the three major sections of the legislation: Evidence-building Activities (Title 1), Open Government Data (Title 2), and Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency (Title 3).
- Chief Evaluation Officer Dr. Alix Gould-Werth serves as the department’s designated Evaluation Officer and leads the Department of Labor’s implementation of Title 1 of the Evidence Act.
- Chief Data Officer Mr. Scott Gibbons serves as the department’s designated Chief Data Officer, and leads the Department of Labor’s implementation of Title 2 of the Evidence Act.
- BLS Commissioner of Labor Statistics Dr. Erika McEntarfer serves as the department’s designated Statistical Official and leads the Department of Labor’s implementation of Title 3 of the Evidence Act.
