Employees of covered private sector employers may be eligible for to up to 2 weeks (80 hours, or a part-time employee’s two-week equivalent) of paid sick leave to care for their child at 2/3 their regular rate of pay or applicable minimum wage, whichever is higher, for a maximum of $200 per day, or $12,000 total over the entire paid sick leave period.
Additionally, employees who have been employed by their employers for at least 30 calendar days may be eligible for up to 10 additional weeks of paid expanded family and medical leave to care for their child under certain circumstances related to COVID-19.
Based on your responses, you may be eligible for paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave to care for one (or more) of your children when his or her school or place of care is closed or child care provider is unavailable, due to COVID-19 related reasons.
