Fair Labor Standards Act & Families First Coronavirus Response Act

Owning or running a business requires a host of tasks, including finding ways to comply with federal wage and hour laws. When employees are treated in ways that are consistent with the law, workers are protected and employers compete on a level playing field. Most employers want to comply with the law, but often have questions about how to meet those responsibilities. This half-day workshop will provide details about the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), and will offer best practices in an online setting. Topics of discussion will include what constitutes hours worked, deductions, overtime, bonuses, record keeping, youth employment and break time for nursing mothers under the FLSA, as well as, eligibility, paid leave, and other requirements under the FFCRA. The PAID self-audit program will also be introduced, along with ways to help promote compliance and avoid violations.

Employers, managers, supervisors, accountants, attorneys, and other professionals from all industries are encouraged to participate in this free workshop.
