Working Mothers: What to Expect from Your Employer When You’re Expecting

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division and Women’s Bureau will host representatives from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to present a series of webinars on workplace protections for new and expecting mothers.

During this webinar, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division and Women’s Bureau and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will provide workers, worker advocates, and other stakeholders with information on the federal laws that protect pregnant workers from discrimination, provide time off for the birth or adoption of a child, and ensure nursing workers can take breaks to pump breast milk while at work.

This free webinar will help workers understand protections afforded by current law and how to talk to their employers and assert their rights. The webinar will also equip advocates with information to assist new and expecting mothers seeking to assert their workplace rights.

This event coincides with August’s National Breastfeeding Month commemoration.

If you require an accommodation or language interpretation in order to attend this webinar, please email WHD-Events@dol.gov at least five (5) business days prior to the event so we can make arrangements.

We will circulate video conference information via email a few days prior to the webinar.

This is a public event. If you have questions, please email WHD-Events@dol.gov.
