    • For more specific results, use quotation marks around phrases.
    • For more general results, remove quotation marks to search for each word individually. For example, minimum wage will return all documents that have either the word minimum or the word wage in the description, while "minimum wage" will limit results to those containing that phrase. If you search using an acronym (e.g., WIOA), try a second search with the acronym spelled out (e.g., “Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.”)

The 2024 Veteran Employment Data Catalog is a document-based catalog of existing datasets that could be used to answer research questions related to veterans’ employment outcomes. The U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Chief Evaluation Office (CEO) collaborated with the Veterans’ Employment and Training Services (VETS) to commission Insight Policy Research (now Westat) to identify both public and restricted datasets that align with topic areas derived from VETS’ mission.

In 2023, the Chief Evaluation Office (CEO), in collaboration with the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), funded independent contractor Abt Associates to conduct the evaluation of ODEP’s Equitable Transition Models (ETM) Demonstration Projects. The ETM Evaluation aims to build the evidence of strategies to enable low-income youth and young adults with disabilities (Y&YAD) ages 16-24, including those experiencing homelessness, leaving foster care, or involved in the justice system, to successfully transition into the workforce.

The researcher theorized that deindustrialization—or the decline of industrial capacity due to social and economic change—created a polarized workforce in which economic and social circumstances are driving up rates of disability among marginalized American workers affected by these changing conditions.

Description

On October 1, 2012, the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) introduced two new requirements for all cases within the Federal Employees’ Compensation Program (FECP). The first requirement is that within 28 days of the start of a worker’s participation in FECP disability management, OWCP must assign a field nurse to the case. The second requirement is that, for workers determined to be “totally disabled,” a second opinion evaluation is necessary if the case remains unresolved after 12 months.

Healthcare workers are well known to be at high risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) from patient handling. In 2011, California passed the Hospital Patient and Health Care Worker Injury Protection Act (AB 1136) that requires acute care hospitals to implement safe patient handling policies and programs to prevent patient handling injuries (PHIs). In 2014, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) established regulations to implement the safe patient handling law.

The report presents findings of the Pathways to Careers: Community Colleges for Youth and Young Adults with Disabilities (Pathways) evaluation consisting of an implementation study and a descriptive outcomes study. The evaluation is descriptive only, given the small numbers of participants included in the Pathways project and lack of a comparison group to measure impacts. The evaluation incorporates an overall design based on mixed data collection methods to support two interrelated and interwoven studies focused on implementation processes and programmatic outputs and outcomes.
