Dean Heyl

Dean served in the first Trump Administration as the Director of the Office of Public Liaison for the Department of Labor.

Prior to returning to DOL, he was the President and Founder of Heyl Enterprises, which solved legislative and regulatory issues for numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Additionally, Dean has extensive association experience. He led the advocacy efforts for the Asian American Hotel Owners Association and is an AAHOA Life Member. As the International Franchise Association’s Chief Legal Officer, he oversaw all international, federal, state, and local advocacy efforts related to the franchise business model as well as managing the group's legal portfolio.

Prior to his time at IFA, he worked for the Direct Selling Association as a lobbyist/attorney and before that was the Executive Director of the Coalition for Affordable Accounting.

His state government experience includes tenures as a senior advisor to the Idaho Attorney General and Governor.

From 2008 – 2011, he was a member of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council.

Dean is a graduate of South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota School of Law.

He is a member of the District of Columbia and U.S. Supreme Court Bars.
