A SUBSIDIARY OF NUANCE COMMUNICATIONS, INC.
ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Notice of Termination of Investigation

Pursuant to Section 221 of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended,
an investigation was initiated in response to a petition filed on
July 24, 2018, by three workers on behalf of workers of Nuance
Transcription Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Nuance
Communications, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia. The petitioning worker
group comprises of remote workers, working out of their homes but
reporting to a Nuance location. The workers firm is engaged in
activities related to the supply of medical language editing
services of electronically dictated and transcribed medical
records. Workers supplying these services are categorized as
Medical Language Specialists (MLS), formerly referred to as
Medical Transcriptionists. It was determined during the course
of the investigation that all MLS workers within the U.S. work
remotely from their homes, and report to Atlanta, Georgia and not
the Burlington, Massachusetts site identified in the petition.
The worker group on whose behalf the petition was filed is
covered under an existing certification (TA-W-93,548) which expires
on March 29, 2020. Consequently, the investigation has been
terminated.
Signed in Washington, D.C. this 9th day of August 2018.
